Marshall 1960BV

When asked how he described his guitar tone, Dave Mustaine said the following:

"I like it to be very chunky and the tone of Marshall amps are an important part of my sound, as are Jackson guitars. I think they've helped me to carve my signature tone."

He decribed his live rig as follows:

"In my live rig, I'm using Marshall EL34/100 power amps, a Rocktron Prophesy preamp/effects processor and Marshall 1960 Vintage 4x12 cabinets loaded with 25-watt Celestion speakers. The cabinets are miked with a Shure SM57 and a Sennheiser 421 which are placed just off the center of the speakers. For smaller venues, I also use a Marshall Power Brake so I can keep the volume down and maintain the same tone."

The world's first ever 4x12" cab was designed and built by Jim Marshall in 1962, and with it a legend was born. Since then we have made many thousands, which have appeared on stages all over the globe.

Marshall 1960BV Speaker Cabinets

To satisfy the increasingly diverse tastes of the modern guitarist, Marshall 4x12s are available with three distinctly different types of Celestion speaker:

a) Standard 75 Watt 'G12T-75' speakers
b) The extra warm sounding Marshall/Celestion 'Vintage' speaker [rated at 70 Watts each]

To ensure the ultimate in flexibility, four of our standard 4x12's are switchable from mono [4 or 16 Ohms] to stereo [8 Ohms per side]. These are the 1960A/B and 1960AV/BV.

To further meet the increasingly diverse tastes of the modern guitarist, Marshall 4x12's are available with three distinctly different types of Celestion speaker: standard G12T-75 Watt speakers; Marshall/Celestion designed re-issue 25 Watt 'Greenbacks' [G12M-25]; or the extra warm sounding Marshall/Celestion 'Vintage 30s' [rated at 70 Watts each]. Each speaker type has its own individual character.

- Heavy duty castors are fitted as standard to all Marshall full size 4x12's to ensure that these cabinets are ready to roll without rocking.
- No sharp metal edges or rough fittings - the smooth ABS plastic Marshall corner fits perfectly and offers excellent protection to all eight cabinet corners.
- Marshall's highest quality woodwork includes the 'corner locking' of each and every joint. This helps give Marshall cabinets the incredible strength and durability which has become as legendary as the Marshall sound itself.
- Heavy-duty Grab Handles are fitted to all Marshall cabinets. Their tough, ergonomic recessed casing design gives easy access to the bar of the handle without affecting the cabinet's smooth lines.
